Fiumicello and the mills

The Mengozzi Mill in Fiumicello and the Biondi Mill in Castel dell’Alpe are important testimonies of mountain culture. Externally similar to rural stone buildings, they are internally equipped for milling. The mills are a perfect example of the close connection between man and nature: the exploitation of the energy of the stream to produce cereal and flour necessary for cooking poor dishes, typical of these mountain areas. Inside the mills you can admire the ancient millstones that are still functional.
