Nature Trail in Fiumicello
Welcome to Fiumicello valley
Fiumicello today has practically less than a dozen inhabitants, but, just 40 years ago, over 200 people populated the numerous farms in the area. The Nature Path then turns into a “Culture Path” to rediscover the elements of the traditional agricultural landscape and the events that have influenced the evolution of the territory. There are numerous traces of the peasant world, even if by now they lack their functionality, but with one exception: the Mengozzi Mill, owned by the Mengozzida family for centuries, remained in activity until the early 1960s. Restored and made functional, it is a living testimony of the efforts, imagination and conquests of the people who lived in the inhospitable slopes of the Apennines.
