Tredozio - Acquacheta - Passo del Muraglione - Passo Tre Faggi - Passo della Cala - Passo della Crocina - Passo dei Mandrioli - Passo delle Gualanciole - La Verna
This "total crossing" of the park has its own undeniable charm, going from one end of the protected area to the other using, wherever possible, its truest backbone, represented by the summit watershed ridge. From a logistical point of view, this great bike excursion presents two problems: someone who will pick you up on arrival (and take you back to the start to collect the vehicle) and it is not feasible - with some exceptions - in one day; the second inconvenience can be happily remedied by staying overnight in one of the refuges located approximately halfway through the route (but even better in two refuges, one third and two thirds of the way respectively). Despite the pure numerical data, apparently discouraging (look at the differences in altitude!), it is a route that is not as tiring as the first impression suggests, provided - obviously - you are at least a little trained and take everything calmly, without overdoing it. Do not underestimate the climatic characteristics: being always (or almost always) on the ridge, the trans-park is normally not feasible in winter or even in spring with abundant snow (at the highest altitudes it remains even until late April-early May). However, the reasons of interest linked to the landscape and the variety of environments largely compensate for these limiting factors.
This too, in the end, is a "nature" journey even before a sport one. And we can only indicate it as a final culmination, of priceless satisfaction, to the other paths of the guide.
