The current town owes its name to an abbey founded by the Benedictines at the end of the tenth century and later passed on to the Camaldolese. The village was born from the aggregation of some houses around the church, the only remaining part of the ancient abbey. Today\u2019s parish preserves a crypt with traces of Romanesque origin. The artisan woodworking, widespread in the past throughout the Casentino, has maintained great traditions here. Worth noting is the Visitor Center of the Park dedicated to man and the forest and the nearby location \u201cCapanno II\u201d from where the \u201cSentiero Natura\u201d dedicated to the beech forest and the \u201csentiero\u201d start\u2026 for everyone, also set up for the disabled people.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wm_gallery\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div
