San Benedetto in Alpe abbey

San Benedetto is a town of very ancient origins that rises at the point where the ditches of Acquacheta, Troncalosso and Rio Destro converge. In “Il Poggio” the church, built in 1723, stands instead of the ancient Benedictine abbey, next to which the medieval village developed. The original monastery remains: the crypt, a defensive tower, an arched door and part of the external walls.
