In the monks' forests
Eremo Camaldoli – Aia di Dorino – Calla Pass – Poggio Scali – Eremo Camaldoli
Great and recommended itinerary, especially for the beauty of the places crossed, emblematic of the identity of the Park and historically very important. There are no major difficulties: the outward journey (after a first stretch of asphalt) is all on a forest track which is usually well-cycleable. The return, after a junction of a couple of kilometers to reach La Calla, takes place on the panoramic mule track of the summit watershed ridge (in fact today a forest road, barred); the last piece, about 1.5 km long, is on a very steep path and you are not ashamed to get off the bike.
Rather, as for hikers on foot (the Calla-Eremo crossing is an absolute classic) and as the signs on the spot say, the possible “climatic” difficulties of this tour that touches high altitudes and ridges exposed to winds should not be underestimated.
