Foreste sacre - Stop 6: Badia Prataglia - Rimbocchi
A stage, the sixth, to leave the forests surrounding Badia Prataglia and finally reach Vallesanta, at the gates of the Sacro Monte della Verna.
You can shorten the route by going directly to the Mandrioli Pass and avoiding the detour to Frassineta. From the Carbonile follow the road towards Passo dei Mandrioli for a few hundred meters, then turning left towards Passo dei Lupatti; from here you reach the Passo dei Mandrioli along the ridge. From the pass, follow a stony mule track that heads east until it skirts Mount Zuccherodante on the Tuscan side.
Shortly after you cross the path that descends from the Passo della Serra, a pass crossed by a mule track which for centuries was an important route between Romagna and central Italy; in a landscape that is now more open, follow the route of the ancient road towards Vallesanta, the Corsalone valley dominated by the profile of Mount Penna. Touching the houses of Serra and then of Corezzo you go down to the Corsalone valley floor, going up the opposite side up to Frassineta, in a beautiful panoramic position. In a short time you go down again to the valley floor passing through Cà Santicchio and directly to Rimbocchi, a place that can be reached avoiding a lot of altitude difference from Serra.
