1 – Trek 20 – A journey through time and space in the Alto Savio

A classic excursion that goes beyond Nasseto following the "mule track of the Grand Duke", which actually has a great past: it was the ancient communication route between Romagna and Tuscany, between Savio and Tiber, crossed by wayfarers, charcoal burners, shepherds and pilgrims (it also led to La Verna but above all it was part of the great "road" to Rome). The grassy plains of Nasseto are a surprise after the climb on arid and rough ridge. The house of Castel dell'Alpe, which in a sense has taken the place of the ancient, homonymous castle, adds a further reason of historical and cultural interest.
