La Burraia

The meadows of Burraia represent one of the most important open ridge areas in the National Park, an important habitat and element of landscape diversification. The name “burraia” recalls the activity of butter production and milk processing, which was once carried out in the building now used as a refuge and managed by the Sci Club of Stia. The most recent C.A.I. “Città di Forlì” stands out in the middle of the meadows, an important stopping point for hikers. The meadows develop right up to the top of Monte Gabrendo, on whose summit came a ski lift which is no longer in use.
